Device PIN Lock
In addition to securing the data, the DS-9500/9000 Device Lock feature protects the device from unauthorised access using a 4-digit PIN code, making sure all data stays off limits to unauthorised individuals.

Intelligent Two-microphone System
The Intelligent Two-microphone System controls the directionality of each microphone for its intended purpose. For conference recording, the system controls the directionally of the 2 microphones into a 90° layout, which enables high quality recording in a realistic stereo feeling. Regardless of where the person speaking is located or the direction of speech, you can clearly capture the information. DS-9500/9000 supports MP3 recording which is convenient when you want to share your conference recording with others.
High quality low-noise microphone unit
The new DS series incorporates low noise omni-directional microphones which are also used in our consumer flagship LS-P1 PCM recorders. The shock absorber which covers the microphone unit reduces touch noise from your hand to the body.
Studio grade Pop-Filter
The microphone housing now includes a triple layered pop-filter, which blocks the wind noise generated from the mouth when talking into the microphones. Directionality Mode for Dictation
Having a strong directionality on the microphones is one of the key to achieve accurate speech recognition. Speech recognition accuracy is dependent on the signal-to-noise ratio of the recording, which means that clearer voice and lower noise are the two factor for better recognition accuracy. The strong directionality works positively against the noise coming from the surroundings, since this will enhance the voice while surrounding noise will be drastically reduced
Two Dictation Modes are offered in the DS-9500/9000.
- Dictation Mode for Quiet Environment
In this mode, the main microphone will be recording in an omni-directionality mode so that the recorder can be held in any way. The distance from your mouth to the microphone should stay within the area shown in the diagram on the left.
- Dictation Mode for Noisy Environment
In this mode, the main microphone will be recording in a high directionality mode together with noise cancellation in order to focus on the voice.
Stereo Mode for Conference
The Intelligent Two-microphone System controls the directionality of each microphone for its intended purpose. If you have a smartphone connected to a mobile data network, connect the device by Wi-Fi tethering. Your dictations can also be sent via the mobile data network. This is convenient when you are on the go.
